How we're handling COVID-19 at Wealthy Self - Wealthy Self

Wealthy Self Financial Planning and COVID-19

As the world grapples with the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) we want to share with you what we’re doing to protect ourselves and our clients. As a small business and young professional family, we’re taking the health precautions and Government advice very seriously, not only to protect ourselves and our growing family, but also to protect our clients – many of whom also have young families and vulnerable family members.

How does COVID-19 affect Wealthy Self?

As a small, family run business, we are able to self-isolate very easily and limit our contact with other people. In all honesty, COVID-19 hasn’t changed how we work because our office isn’t in a public working space or office and we’re based on private premises.

How does COVID-19 affect your clients?

As we work with clients all over Australia, for the majority of our clients, there is no change to how we will continue to work with you. We operate in an agile manner, using technology to connect us with our clients in all states and territories which includes, Skype, Zoom, phone calls, emails and the Wealthy Self app.

For Melbourne based clients, we have stopped all face-to-face client meetings and for the foreseeable future, will engage with you via phone, Skype or Zoom, as per our interstate clients. Due to the agile and remote Wealthy Self set up, existing and new clients shouldn’t experience any changes to their service due to the coronavirus. However, due to the financial impact of COVID-19, we are experiencing a higher volume of queries, so please bear with us as we attend to all our clients queries and needs.

What precautions are you taking?

As is in line with the Government health advice, which we are updating ourselves on daily, we are undertaking the hygiene measures of regularly washing our hands for 20 seconds, using hand sanitizer in public spaces, using tissues if coughing or sneezing, limiting physical contact such as handshakes, walking our pup Winston in open quiet spaces and generally keeping Wealthy Self HQ disinfected and clean.

How does COVID-19 affect my financial situation?

As the COVID-19 situation changes daily, we’re keeping on top of the latest information including what is happening with the global markets and the current and potential financial implications for our clients. The important thing to remember right now is to remain calm and discuss any potential changes to your financial strategy with us first. If you have any questions or concerns around your specific financial situation, please email David to arrange a chat.

Where can I get more information?

If you’re feeling unwell and you’re not sure what to do, please do not hesitate to speak to your local GP for advice on your specific circumstances. You can also use Health Direct’s Symptom Tracker, if you are experiencing symptoms similar to COVID-19. You can also keep up to date with the changing situation and find further information at the Department of Health website. There is also a Coronavirus 24-hour information line you can call on 1800 020 080. If you or a loved one are struggling with the emotional impacts of the situation, Lifeline Australia has some useful relevant information and tips to keep yourself safe during this time.

From the Wealthy Self team, we hope you and your family and loved ones stay healthy, happy and safe during this time of uncertainty.
